… were taken when we invited our stakeholders to a meeting about our need to collaborate and solve existing problems related to Gender-based violence last week Wednesday (08/11/2017)! We were happy to impart our vision with other social organisations, projects, local businesses and individuals that share our passion for community development and contributed valuable ideas.
As part of a strong growing community we are honoured to see that we have the support of many organisations around Soweto.
In order to work on our collaboration and use the multiple network opportunities that arse for all of us, we will realise the wish for a platform for social organisations around Soweto. This will simplify communication and enhance knowledge of every organization’s existing programmes. These steps will help solving the problems about Gender-based violence in our community and make people aware of existing issues.
It was a great start to new things coming up and expanding networks all over Soweto, reaching out to even more community members. Thanks to the stakeholders for all their input and participation in the meeting!
According to “Nothing for us without us”, a second meeting for youth from Protea Glen was held the following Friday, with the aim to involve them as early as possible and to get to know their ideas, interests and potentials. Again, first contacts were made and we are looking forward to cooperating with these motivated young members of our community!
As part of our monthly Community Dialogue (Friday 17th November, 11 am) we will have a feedback session with the participants.
The topic will be “Ringing the Bell about Gender-based violence”.
As always: every community member is invited to participate!
